Eligibility

Open to currently enrolled college students in the Boston area who registered through the event site. Teams are one to four people. You can join a team at kickoff.

Building

• Projects must be built during the hackathon, between kickoff at 9:00 AM and submissions at 8:00 PM on February 6, 2027. You can arrive with ideas, sketches, and research, but not code, hardware, or designs made in advance.
• Open-source libraries, public APIs, dev boards, and off-the-shelf parts are fine. Say what you used.
• One submission per team, and each person can be on one team.
• Work from mentors and sponsors is advice, not code. The team builds the project.

Judging and prizes

Every team demos live. Judges score on Built, Wanted, and Pitched. Finalists pitch to a panel of founders, investors, and sponsor judges. Prizes and sponsor challenge awards are announced at the event. Judges’ decisions are final.

Your work stays yours

Teams keep all rights to what they build. By submitting, you give Catalyst and the event sponsors permission to show your project name, description, photos, and video when talking about the event.

Conduct

This is an MLH member event. Everyone attending agrees to the MLH Code of Conduct and the MLH Contest Terms and Conditions. Organizers may remove anyone who violates them, and may disqualify any submission that breaks these rules.
